Give me a list of the top, say...ten books you think I should read before I die.

No need to put any HP books on the list, of course. But feel free to put something someone else may have already listed. The more I see it, the more I'll be sure to read it if I haven't already. =)

Thank you very much, I appreciate your help.

Soon, I'll actually update rather than keep asking for favors. *winks*
moon_dancing: (Default)
Hey guys. I have a thousand things I could update with and so much to catch up on and things I want to do, but wow - life has been picking me up off my feet lately and hardly puts me down to rest much. Two weeks since I've had a day off from work. =\ At least things are going reasonably well.

A proper update shall be made soon, but in the mean time I've a HUGE favor to ask you. Any one, pleasepleaseplease, I'd appreciate it if you could do this for me. Adam (for a school project) needs people to take his survey for an advertising class. It'll take you a couple of minutes and all you have to do is look at two different ads and answer a few questions on how the ad 'made you feel'.

Go here for the first ad and here for the second one.

I'd be muchmuchmuch appreciative if any of you could do this. Thank you, if you do. =)

Talk to you all sooooon.
Love.

I meant to be writing (well, I meant to do a lot of things today and I've not accomplished a single one of them...) until I realized I'm horribly tired of my layout.

My problem is that I don't know, really, what I want and I seem to be picky. Searching, I can find suitable layouts but they just don't scream at me. I'm looking for screaming, apparently...

So, to my point - anyone have any suggestions? Suggestions on a layout, where to find a lovely screaming at me one or know of anyone willing to work with me the girl who knows not what she wants but is easy to please to make one for me?

I'd be eternally grateful for the help. As you can tell, I'm lacking in the layout department. Teh.

Now, I was working on something a while ago...

Okay, soooo...today is the one year mark of my last update on What Dreams May Come (or, anything, for that matter) and...I didn't update. No, really, I've already shot myself in the foot for not making my own deadline. I really am sorry (for anyone that cares at this point...).

BUT - I do have about half of the chapter completed and in the hands of the lovely Mands for beta reading. The second half is coming, kind of relying on how the first half turns out. What I do have, is 12 pages of size 12 font, Times New Roman and 4 822 words. Generally, each chapter for wdmc averages about 6 500 words and 20 some odd pages. So...see? I'm getting there! I may be further along than I think or this may end up being a long chapter. *nods* Someone tell me this is good news...please...Ohmy - I'm begging, aren't I?

While I'm busy begging - curiously - I have Mands to beta read, but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who might be interested in helping to beta read the rest of wdmc? I need pushing and prodding, as well as someone who can handle my random rambles and hashing out ideas while I'm writing. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. Lizaloo, the previous beta, is currently indisposed and not able to beta for me right now. I feel like a lost little puppy...

But, aside from that news, I also have a good reason for not writing as much as I would have liked - I've been actively working on things at UR.org. *nods* Yep. And do you know that our first anniversary is coming up next month? Exciting.

Okay, see, I'm avoiding both writing and my homework right now, so I should get to that...one of those...

Love n huggles.

On occasion, I surprise myself. For instance, I never thought I'd be one of those authors - the kind who rarely update and tend to disapear from the fandom for indisputed amounts of time. I knew, from the moment I decided to begin posting, that I wouldn't be able to update often, but for a while, I was on a slight schedule.

Then a few months passed by and I tried to write, getting nowhere fast. A few more months passed and now we're only a month away from a year having passed since What Dreams May Come was last updated.

I am one of those authors.

However, never fear! The muse has returned, I've begun contact with my old beta, found a new beta to push and prod me (the lovely [profile] white_tulips), and [here's the best part] I'm writing.

I know, I know, I had to pick myself up off the floor from shock, too. And then I started writing again.

Life's been a bitch, but it's kicked me in the ass and pushed me back to where I think I need to be. I can't promise a time when wdmc will be updated, I won't even go as far as to estimate. What I can tell you is that it will be updated before the one year mark has come and passed. We're getting close to the end (it may end up being three more chapters vs. the two more I had been thinking...I'm still unsure) and I'd like to finish it before I get too far into over two years of writing this. That, and I'd really like to get back into writing Ride the Wind.

So - to make sure you're receiving my upmost apologies for the long lack of updates and to hopefully get you excited about the coming chapter - a small sample.

Hmmm...what could be going on in this chapter? I'm quite excited to finally be writing it.

Till next time ~

Today was National Hunger Awareness Day - 2006, in case you weren't aware. Some amazing things were happening all around.

And I think that James Potter has been calling my name lately.....hopefully, look for some updates soon.

Ooo, I've been gone from El Jay so long they've changed things...Current location? Interesting.

My goal for the week:

Properly update this and reply to people.

Work and school and life and being sick have kept me away.

The sick thing has me now.

Love to you all.

Five weeks after my last comment made...

are I say that if I've learned anything in the past couple months it's been that time is your one constant companion. It's bruttle and honest, always pushing you, occasionally giving you what you need and sometimes not slowing down so you can breathe. And once some time has passed and you look back, it can be rather amazing at all that traveled either with you or past you.

Alright, since I'm sure not everyone wants to read everything I have to say, LJcuts:

Point is - I've been busy, exceptionally, but I love you all. I miss you guys when I'm not around. It'd be almost silly to say that I hope I can manage more time on here - I never follow through with planned plans ... but here's to hoping time will be willing to be my friend a bit more in the coming year now that I've accepted it more graciously.

Hope you all are well. My love to you all. <3

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In July I gave [livejournal.com profile] firstlightofeos a kidney (1000 points). In May I helped [livejournal.com profile] jess_darkwater hide a body (-173 points). Last Thursday I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In February I pulled [livejournal.com profile] christycorr's hair (-5 points). In September [livejournal.com profile] nitwitinperil and I robbed a bank (-50 points).

Overall, I've been nice (800 points). For Christmas I deserve a red Radio-Flyer wagon!

Sincerely,
moon_dancing

Thank you for your opinions. : ) A moment of stresssssss.

I've actually, because it's not like I have anything else to do- *stares dumbfoundedly* *tilts head at made up word* - decided to combine them.

.............

My thesis:

As a society, we have a moral obligation to attempt at rehabilitating juvenile delinquents rather than trying them as adults in our courts and sentencing them to prisons. Because they are still children, we have an obligation to teach them. When a child does wrong, we punish and correct them as age and crime call for.

That is of course, after Adam convinced me this isn't a sociolgy research paper but a philosophy class.....
moon_dancing: (Default)
Opinion Needed ASAP:

I have to write an ethics paper for my ethics class (captain obvious, aren't I?) and I can't decide what to do it on.

1. Is it, or should it be, our moral duty to rehabilitate criminals?

or

2. Is it ethical (or morally right) to treat juvenile criminals as adults?

Give a girl a promotion, put her on salary and take away overtime pay. Add in that she loves her manager like a mother and would do anything for her, is over dedicated with a strong sense of work ethics. Now drop in the useless concentration of particles that is supposed to make up the other third of the management team. And just for fun, add the 'too much to do in a short amount of time like turn the store into a Christmas fairy land from a Halloween play land and keep up with everyday stock and things to do - all while cutting back payroll and hours for the hourly associates (the ones who get overtime)' and what do you get?

A tired, stressed out, over-worked, too dedicated, crabby bitch.

Who really misses just hanging out on the computer...

The good news is that we have a few interviews this week to hopefully replace Useless and the transition is almost over and things should be starting to slow down with the acception of training a new person and writing the thousand papers due in school - so I'm looking forward to time on here again SOON.

Like time that could be used to be on UR and to WRITE and to TALK to people...

Love to you all.

I like long vacations from the computer? Not exactly. Life just has a way with meddling into what you want to do sometimes.

I can't say that things are settled down and I'll have more free time to spend on the things I love like, on here, writing and such - but I do plan on making time. I miss everyone and everything. =)

I plan on getting back into the middle of helping complete UR.org and then be able to get back into writing. Aside from possible updates on UR.org (which any readers from ff.net will have read before - with the possibility of beginning to repost RtW), I plan on working on the final two chapters of What Dreams May Come after the site is finished.

Hope all is well.

Chapter Thirteen, An Afternoon Tea of What Dreams May Come is posted at ff.net.

Two more chapters left of the story. I'm looking forward to writing chapter 14. *grins*

And, since Dede has been so adament about me posting more work on ur.org, I've put up chapter one of wdmc.

Any RtW readers, don't worry, it's coming. *grins* I'm really excited to get back to writing that. I just want to wrap up wdmc first.

*love*

An extra shout out and super lovely thank you to those who reviewed since my last update. I appreciate it so very, very much. <3

This post is all Christy's fault. I went back to find out what I was tagged for and found the other meme.

Damn her and her meme's. *loves*

Meme I was tagged to do. )

And because this one looked fun, I yanked it from [livejournal.com profile] christycorr too.

*love*

p.s. Someone explain to me why these are called 'meme'.
moon_dancing: (Default)
*yawns*

Well, with the crazyfunlove of unknowableroom.org I posted a oneshot that hasn't been previously seen. I wrote it a couple months ago, actually. I was waiting for UR because I wanted to include a stanza from a Muse song that inspired the fic as well as a stanza of a Madonna song that came on while I was writing it and got me all emotional and into it. LoL.

The drabble is called The Butterflies Within the Hurricane (based on the *gasp* song Butterflies and Hurricanes).

It's a story about Remus and his thoughts and reactions on that fate-filled night on which he lost his best friends.

I went ahead and put it up on ff.net too, without the lyrics of course, just because.

Off to bed.

With love ~
