Blank Frustrations.
Aug. 17th, 2005 02:23 amI promise that in the midst of everything that I've been doing and that's been keeping me busy, I've been trying to write.
I really am. I'm trying to write, but it just...won't come out. At least not right, at all.
I need a muse.
And it so slipped past me that WDMC is a year old now. Awww.
I so really, really wanted to have been finished with that by now. I think I may revise the outline which may make it a chapter (or two, but probably just one) shorter than what's planned now. We'll see.
Weddings and work and pre-school stuff and friends and family and avoiding. And eating. Trying to write...
Yeah...that's all. <3
Somebody make me giddy.

on 2005-08-18 01:51 am (UTC)I've had writer's block so often that I should have a response for this without even thinking about it... I think I had writer's block for every chapter of MMI (either that or it was my laziness again). Thank goodness I finished that fic.
Umm. Now back to Missers' problem.
My advice is to just let your mind wander. On anything; not just fanfic stuff. Then eventually it will come to you.
Sounds like stupid advice, but that's what worked for me when words wouldn't come. Listening to music can also help because then you might get inspired by the lyrics or by how well the music fits your story or it may inspire you to take it in a different direction. Music is what helps me the most lately. "Fix You" by Coldplay and "Runaway" by Something Corporate got me out of my last writer's funk. Oooh... I love those songs...
Wow, it's amazing how quickly I can get myself off topic. Anyway Missy... Don't go beating yourself up over it when you can't find the words. It happens to most writers (*secretly envies oy angelina*). Just remember that it won't last forever. By the time I finish writing this whole, long thing; you could already be inspired.
So yeah... That's my advice. I hope it helped.
Now go be GIDDY!

on 2005-08-18 03:57 am (UTC)But they were always worth it. *grins*
I think I did what you suggested - I think music helped me along today. They changed the music at work, so it was different stuff than I'm used to and I ran with it. =)
Here's to hoping. Thanks, luv. <333
