I do believe - though I'm not sure how much editing and rewriting it may need - that I have finished writing Chapter 14 of What Dreams May Come.
In fact, I'm so sure that I did send the rest of the chapter off to my lovely beta,

I'm not sure if I'm excited, scared, nervous or relieved...
How did I get so accomplished this week? It's been really productive...
ETA: The final four paragraphs of the story have been written. The very ending - it's there and I actually love it. Let's hope this motivation keeps coming...

on 2007-01-12 01:38 am (UTC)I just checked my Yahoo mail and I got both segments. It's a long weekend this weekend (soooo nice--after a full week of school after break, we have a three-day weekend), so I can definitely get to it then. As long as I don't watch too much soccer (is there such a thing?), I should get it back to you by Monday night.
Also, I'm part of the UR fic exchange and I'm like super super super late in finishing, but I want to finish it this weekend, so expect it to be in your inbox sometime then.

on 2007-01-13 03:37 am (UTC)Ahhh, no such thing as too much soccer. What do you think about the whole Beckem in L.A. thing?

on 2007-01-14 08:27 pm (UTC)Um. Moving to LA = end of career. Literally. Fabio Capello (Real's manager) won't play him in any matches anymore. I mean, it's not like he's been in the starting XI since he like first signed, so he's only been going in as a sub, so his career's pretty much been over since the Cup (and, by the way, he lost his captaincy of the English squad AND A PLACE ON IT since). Signing with Galaxy just buried him ten more feet. But anyway, yesterday Capello said that from now on, Beckham will still train with the team, but he won't get any match time anymore since Capello can't play someone with such a huge contract with another club. Also, Becks literally said that he wants to increase his celebrity in the US. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE FOOTBALL. Aaaand he also thinks that him moving to the States will increase football's popularity in the country, which won't work because a. the States is too attached to fake football, baseball and basketball, b. not even hockey is a major force in the country, and c. even if he does increase his celebrity in the States, it won't be for his football--it would increase because of Posh and them being friends with actors. Oh AND he thinks that him moving to Galaxy would encourage other European players to move to MLS too, which is SUCH a lie since it would be such a waste of their skill because MLS isn't a competitive league AT ALL. Honestly, Beckham's career would've been better if he played for like Serie B or something. Idiot.

on 2007-01-15 03:13 am (UTC)100% agree. The only thing I think could be cool is if he does indeed keep and actually play, I could actually have a chance at seeing him, since, like, no one in the football world comes to St. Louis. At least that I ever know of... But I totally agree with you.
And shoot me for not spelling his name right. *rolls eyes at self*
