Thank you for your opinions. : ) A moment of stresssssss.

I've actually, because it's not like I have anything else to do- *stares dumbfoundedly* *tilts head at made up word* - decided to combine them.

.............

My thesis:

As a society, we have a moral obligation to attempt at rehabilitating juvenile delinquents rather than trying them as adults in our courts and sentencing them to prisons. Because they are still children, we have an obligation to teach them. When a child does wrong, we punish and correct them as age and crime call for.

That is of course, after Adam convinced me this isn't a sociolgy research paper but a philosophy class.....

O_o That sounds so incredibly like something my mother would say. She has a very strong belief that all children can be taught right from wrong, and that all children can be taught how to fix their mistakes.

Philosophy sounds much trickier (but also so much easier) than sociology. I always thought philosophy was more about thoughts that need not necessarily be based on facts, but one's own experiences and beliefs. Or perhaps I'm just sick of the word 'research' and literally shudder every time I hear it. Thank the lord for summer holidays. \o/

Hmm, I'm not sure how I stand on believing all children can be taught right from wrong and how to fix their mistakes, some people just aren't ever going to get it or just not care enough, but I am a pretty positive person and tend to belive that most of our societies problems are because we rarely,if ever, look at the root of the problem. I don't think that just throwing out new rules, laws, and trying to change things is going to solve anything. *shrug*

I've taken more sociology classes than philosophy. Phil. isn't...as easy as one thinks. lol There are certain thought processes and theories and ways to approach the thinking..... I'm bored already. lol. I don't always want answers. Tee. And with Ethics, it isn't just about 'is it right or wrong' but why it is or isn't and how do you decide. So there are all these theories to find the answer and the problem is that people can bend the theories to fit thier opinions. Sociology? Cut and dry. People and society react to each other in an obvious way, we see it. Why? And how can we better it? Much more my cup of tea. =)

How's that for some ramble, aye? lol.

*secretly moves in under your bed to enjoy the holidays too*

*is so glad she's not yet in college*

Urgh. I have an opinion on nothing. And if, by total luck, I have an opinion on a topic...it's the "a little bit of both" opinion. So I commend you on your thesis.

LoL. My Missers is all grown up, going off to college and writing papers that make my mind boggled. *sniffs* It's so great.

Out of oblivion,
